My quest for a delicious chocolate frosting recipe

I don’t know about you but I’m not much of a fan of store bought frosting.  It is too sweet and leaves a greasy after taste.  I shared my favorite easy buttercream recipe Here.  Well until now I haven’t found a chocolate frosting recipe that I like. Most are not chocolaty enough for me and they are always a light brown color which quite honestly freaks me out a bit.  So I saw something on the internet about adding hot fudge to frosting to give it a richer taste and darker look. This frosting was so yummy, I thought I’d share.

Hot Fudge Frosting

3/4 cup butter (softened)
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 cups confectioners' sugar
2 tablespoons milk
1 cup hot fudge topping
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Mix butter, cocoa, and sugar together.  Add 1 tbls of milk at a time until frosting is desired thickness.  Then add hot fudge and vanilla.

Give it a try, it is tasty stuff!
