The Before
With baby #3 came a lot more stuff. It’s pretty hard to keep it all contained and looking nice, so I recently did a makeover of the kiddies toy area. I used my Silhouette and used vinyl and heat transfer material. My favorite feature of my Silhouette machine is that I can use the fonts from my computer. As a previous owner of the personal Cricut, I have to say that the features of the Silhouette are impressive.
First, I repainted the wooden toy bins that we already had. And I applied vinyl labels to them. Both the front and the back of the bins have a different word on them so we can mix it up according to our needs.
The shelving is new (and inexpensive) and holds more bins. The “canvas” bins have heat transfer material on them. *please note that this process of ironing on the words didn’t go as smoothly as I had hoped. Lots of frustration as a result* The fabric bins are not actually canvas and melts completely if touched with an iron alone. So I had to be extra careful (I learned the hard way) to not let even the edge of the iron touch the material or it would melt it. So in the future I will pay more attention to the type of fabric I am using before planning to use heat transfer. I will post a couple of projects using the heat transfer soon and give you my opinion of the stuff. :)
I love all the extra space and my favorite bins are for our “boobie traps” and “baby dolls”.
The After
Thanks for taking a look!
