Carmel Corn project and Recipe

No cards today, but I have a recipe for you. I needed some small gifts for Father's Day. I printed this clip art out with sentiment "Happy Father's Day Pops!" onto adhesive paper. And used my Nesties to cut out. It was a really easy project to mass produce and of course the guys loved it (it's food).

Carmel Corn
1/2 c margarine
1 c brown sugar
1/4c corn syrup
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 tsp baking soda
2 bags popped microwave popcorn

Combine marg., sugar, corn syrup, and salt in sauce pan. Bring to boil and boil for 2 minutes. Mix in Soda. Pour over popcorn in large bowl. Mix. Put bowl in microwave and cook for 1 min. Mix till coated over all popcorn. (you can put in microwave in 1 minute increments multiple times, the more times you do this, the harder the carmel sets on the popcorn)
Dry on wax paper.

Carmel corn is one of my Favorite things and that's the theme of PTW. Also today is a Whimsy Challenge so hop over and see the Christmas in Juy cards and play along. Thanks for stopping by today!

hhhmmm caramel corn.....ok so if you asked my husband what his favorite thing is he will tell you straight up "my wife naked holding a plate of munchies" LOL So you see it really doesn't matter what you do gals or how much you spend in your craft rooms. Just show up naked with food and they are HAPPY!! Love your popcorn treat idea - gonna use that for football season!!

This recipie looks delicious and the little packages are adorable too! Although I do suggest instead of using microwave popcorn, making your own mushroom popcorn - the kind that pops into calls, like cracker jacks! It'll make those little bag even more attractive! =) I get my popcorn from www.justpopin.com. If your a mega popcorn fan, like me... I suggest getting the 5lb bag!!
